    Fun, easy and affordable.

    With so many types, styles and brands of Port out there, most often than not at hefty prices, it’s difficult to know where and how to start! That’s why we created “Vintage Nights” : A fun, easy and affordable way to enjoy Port, Madeira and other delicious gems from Portugal.

    If you’re already an “aficionado” now you can enjoy and explore, without having to wait for the next big family reunion, or a special occasion to enjoy a glass of Vintage Port! And if  you’re just now starting to explore this amazing world, here you can try and taste many different styles and types of Port in a fun and highly informative atmosphere.

    A great night out.

    Wether you’re just looking for a different programme for your evening, or have your eyes specifically set on Port and Madeira, you can enjoy them as part of a great night out. Vintage Nights are not a group tasting event (unless things naturally turn out that way) so everybody can enjoy their evening at their own pace, and chosen format. From 8pm, until 10:30pm you can enjoy your Ports after some great Portuguese Tapas, cheese Boards, or our weekly evening specials and delicious desserts, o alternatively come just for the Port. It’s your call.

    Wine Line-up

    One of the challenges with Port is having the patience (and money) to wait a long time (sometimes decades/ hundreds of pounds) until the wine reaches its full maturity and splendour. In this first session, we’re going to kick off by tackling this exact issue, and introduce you to (and hopefully get you as excited as we are with) two outstanding examples of Port Wines  made specifically to be enjoyed while young at a very reasonable prices, while keeping the vital characteristics needed to age in the bottle if you wish to do so.

    Nieepoort Crusted 2nd Edition (Botled 2011)

    This Crusted Port very much complements the well renowned Vintage and Late Bottled Vintage in the Niepoort range. Traditionally, Crusted Port is selected from wines of Vintage quality, from two or three harvests, which undergo no fining or filtration prior to bottling and are only released three years after bottling.

    Nieepoort Vintage Secundum 1999

    It’s not a second wine, but instead an alternative, slightly more affordable bottling for Niepoort fans who can’t afford or obtain the regular Vintage Port. It’s a proper Vintage Port, but from wines considered not classic enough to be a Vintage Niepoort, and it could be declared in any year: 1999 is the inaugural vintage. Intense complex spicy/herby nose. The palate shows a good concentration of sweet, spicy, herby fruit, with firm tannins lying underneath. Very good/excellent

    1x 125ml (Official Port Glass) of Nieepoort Crusted 2nd Edition (Bottled 2011)
    1x  125ml (Official Port Glass) of Nieepoort 1999 Vintage Secundum.

    (Best option if you just want to have wine, or looking to have dinner, tapas, or desserts before)

    1x 125ml (Official Port Glass) of Nieepoort Crusted 2nd Edition (Bottled 2011)
    1x  125ml (Official Port Glass) of Nieepoort 1999 Vintage Secundum.

    Port cheese board: Mixed Nuts, Artisan Bread and Queijo da Serra cheese.
