‘Porto Electronica 1985-2005″ traces the history of electronic music in Portugal’s second biggest city, with a strong focus on the club scene. From Post-Punk and Rave to Deep House and D&B, “Porto Electronica” follows the flourishing of DJ culture in a place where at the start of the film, as interview subject Pedro Tenreiro puts it, “being a DJ wasn’t very different from being a bartender”.

Since the film’s subject matter is sure to get the audience in the mood for a little dancing, Porto’s own João Marrucho will be spinning some records after the movie.
